How It Works

1. Once you have entered your website URL, we will check your website against the 17 SEO factors explained below and then provide you with a free SEO report showing your score.

Current PageRank

Google PageRank determines how popular, relevant or important your website is, which is based on the quality of inbound and outbound backlinks to your web page. A website with a higher Google PageRank is more likely to rank higher on Search Engine Result Page (SERP) than a website with lower Google PageRank. Google PageRank is rated from 0 (least PageRank) to 10 (highest PageRank).

Website URL

A good website URL should be short in length, descriptive, and unforgettable.

Blacklist Records

A blacklisted website or IP address is very detrimental to a good search engine result page ranking. Blacklisted websites are marked as being harmful on search engines and searchers are advised not to visit such websites. We'll check the history of your website to see if it's blacklisted.

Website Speed

A fast loading website is key to ranking higher than other competitors on Search Engines. So ensure that your website speed isn't slow.

Domain Name Rating

Search engines do prefer certain Top-Level Domains (TLD), for example .edu, .gov, and .com TLDs are mostly favoured by search engines when ranking. Also, a short domain name length is key to ranking high.

Homepage Title Rating

Your website homepage title is embedded in your website's header. It should be clear and contains some of your keywords. Do limit the number of characters in your meta title to 55 characters, but not more than 60 characters, because Google normally displays the first 50 - 60 characters of your meta title.

Meta Description Rating

Best practice is to limit the number of characters in your meta description to between 150 and 160 characters, so it doesn't get truncated in search engines. Also ensure that some of your keywords appear within your meta description, for better ranking.

Web Content Rating

Your website contents are being rated based on the quality and length of your contents, and how many times your main keywords are mentioned within your contents. These are important factors for ranking high in search engines for your keywords. Also avoid keyword stuffing (excessive use of keywords within contents) as it could be regarded as negative search engine optimization (SEO).

Domain Mentions

Just as the name implies, this is the amount of time that your website has been mentioned in-text (not backlinks) by other websites or people on the internet.

Image ALT Tags

Make your images more search engine friendly by specifying the “ALT” tags on all images on your websites.

Image Titles

Although ideal, but not very important, ensure that appropriate titles are assigned to your images so they are easily indexed by search engines. A properly titled image will also appear on search engines for your chosen keywords.

Title Headers

Search Engines like the use of headers, such as <H1>, <H2>, <H3> or <H4>, as it helps them to categorize your web content accurately. Ensure that you should use them appropriately on your web pages.

Robots.txt File

Robots.txt file is used to communicate with search engine robots, instructing them on how to and how not to crawl and index your website pages. It is best practice to include the robot.txt file in your website.

Inbound Links

These are links coming from other websites that are leading to your own website. This is a major factor used by search engines in determining your website's relevance and ranking. Websites with high quality backlinks rank higher in search engine result page.

Outbound Links

These are links from your own websites that are pointing to other websites. Outbound links pointing to other websites help the search engines to understand your niche clearly, as well as increasing the trust and relevance of your website.

DoFollow Links

Website Links with DoFollow tags are acknowledged by Search engines, thereby passing on the link juice which could lead to higher page ranking.

NoFollow Links

Website Links with NoFollow tags are not acknowledged by Search engines, even though the link points to another website. NoFollow Links do not pass on any link juice.
